Celebrating Excellence in AI Research: David Armstrong Receives QUB EEECS Paper Award

Cirdan are delighted to announce that our colleague and Senior AI Engineer David Armstrong has been recognised for his outstanding research in Artificial Intelligence at Queen’s University Belfast, and has been awarded the School of Electronics, Electrical Engineering and Computer Science (EEECS) Paper award!

This award, presented by the School of Electronics, Electrical Engineering and Computer Science (EEECS) Postgraduate Research Committee, honours postgraduate researchers who achieve publication in top-tier academic venues. Specifically, it recognises papers accepted to highly ranked conferences classified as A*/A under the ERA framework or A1/A2 under the Qualis system: a benchmark of excellence in global research.

David’s achievement reflects both the quality and impact of his work in AI, as well as his dedication to advancing the field. Publishing at this level is no small feat; it requires not only technical expertise but also originality, rigour, and a meaningful contribution to ongoing academic and industry conversations.

At Cirdan, we’re committed to fostering innovation and supporting the professional growth of our team. David’s success is a great example of how academic research and real-world application can come together to push boundaries and deliver meaningful progress.

We’re delighted to see his work recognised at this level and look forward to the continued impact of his research, both within Cirdan and across the wider AI community.

Congratulations, David, on this well-deserved achievement!
