Commitment to Achieving Net Zero

Cirdan Imaging Ltd. is committed to achieving Net Zero emissions by 2050, in alignment with the Carbon Reduction Plan guidelines.

Baseline Emissions Footprint

Cirdan is an office-based software company with a small production department producing a limited number of medical x-ray cabinets. Cirdan has a hybrid working policy where staff are required to work 60% of their time in the office and the rest in the home office. Cirdans’ production department buy in stock items for assembly on site and then ship stock ex-works to customers. Cirdans’ software is delivered to customers as either an on-premise solution (emissions managed by the customer), or an on cloud solution managed by Cirdan and operated by third parties that have been selected based on their net zero and sustainability credentials.

Cirdans Baseline emissions are a record of the greenhouse gases that have been produced in the past and were produced prior to the introduction of any strategies to reduce emissions. Baseline emissions are the reference point against which emissions reduction can be measured.

Baseline Year: 2024

Additional Details relating to the Baseline Emissions calculations.
Cirdan has completed a comprehensive assessment of Scope 1 and 2 emissions (across all relevant categories) for the financial year FY 2024. As this marks the first official year of reporting, the ‘baseline’ and ‘current year’ emissions are identical.
Our Scope 3 emissions are less clear as we have a lack of historical data for employee transport modes and distances, and a limited record of travel bookings and flights.
The emissions have been calculated in accordance with the Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Protocol, adhering to industry best practices.

  • Scope 1 includes direct emissions, specifically those arising from the onsite consumption of natural gas at our office locations.
  • Scope 2 covers indirect emissions, primarily those related to the purchase and use of electricity.
  • Scope 3 encompasses all other indirect emissions, including business travel, emissions from fuel extraction and the production of purchased goods and services, emissions from vehicles not owned or controlled by the company, base building utilities, upstream transportation and distribution, employee commuting, remote working and waste disposal.

Carbon Reduction Goals

To continue our progress to achieving Net Zero, we have adopted the following carbon reduction targets. We project that our carbon emissions will be reduced to 232 tCO2e by 2035, representing a 40% reduction. This interim target is followed by our commitment to achieving Net Zero emissions by 2050.

Carbon Reduction Projects

In the future we aim to implement the following measures:

  • Work with suppliers that demonstrate a commitment to sustainability by implementing low carbon manufacturing processes and utilizing renewable energy sources in their operations.
  • Continue to use 100% renewable energy and invest in clean technologies for Scope 3 emissions including LED lighting and solar panels.
  • Transition the company and employee fleet to electric or zero-emission alternatives, with the goal of completing this transition by 2035.
  • Explore new ideas for the electrification of Scope 1 emissions related to oil consumption.
  • Educate employees about energy saving behaviors, waste reduction and sustainable business practices. Additionally, promote energy conservation within office environments by encouraging practices such as turning off lights, reducing paper consumption and implementing effective recycling programs.

We remain committed to transparency in communicating our emissions reduction journey through regular reporting.

For the financial year 2025 we aim to have more complete and accurate data to refine our Scope 3 emissions and improve our sustainability reporting.

We will achieve this by;

  • Conducting regular internal employee surveys to gather commuting information, including modes of transport, distances, and frequency of commute.
  • Improve internal reporting by requiring all business travel to be logged through a centralized system to obtain more accurate data.

Declaration

This Carbon Reduction Plan has been completed in accordance with PPN 06/21 and associated guidance and reporting standard for Carbon Reduction Plans.

Emissions have been reported and recorded in accordance with the published reporting standards for Carbon Reduction Plans and the Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Reporting Protocol corporate standard and uses the appropriate Government emission conversion factors for greenhouse gas company reporting.

Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions have been reported in accordance with Streamlined Energy and Carbon Reporting (SERC) requirements. In addition, the required subset of Scope 3 emissions has been reported in accordance with the published reporting standard for Carbon Reduction Plans and the Corporate Value Chain (Scope 3) standard.
